Cycle World: Web Site Redesign
Cycle World is the authority on all things motorcycles. The goal for the redesign was to declutter the web site and increase engagement. The process began with the site structure. It was architected based on the frequency the edit team published content. Since they were updating the content on a daily basis, we went with a blogroll layout.
Thought was put into the advertisement placements; in the past ads where predominately set in the right sidebar. Those tended to not preform as well and eventually become blind spots to viewers. As a result we place ads inline with content, which resulted in higher views and interaction. We also introduced full-bleed sections to promote big ticket programs for advertisers and editorial features.
Another large aspect of the project, was to design a motorcycle buyer’s guide section. The goal was to promote more views and become a repository of content that would be used time and again by the visitors. I wire framed & designed the user interface of the buyer’s guide.
The deliverables were created with Sketch, Abode Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator. Prototyped in InVision.
